Calculating area requirements for 1 kW rooftop solar PV system

Utilize the clean form of energy by installing solar PV systems on the rooftop. But for this, some technical aspects have to be considered. One such important factor is the area that is needed for the 1kW Solar Rooftop Installation.

Aspects to remember before installing the rooftop solar PV system:

·         The shadow test is very important before the installation of the solar system. In this test, optimum solar energy has collected. For this, the panels have to be installed in the south direction. Choose an area where there is no shadow of trees and buildings.

·         You also have to take into account how much load the roof can bear. The weight of solar panels is an important aspect. The weight of the solar panel depends on its size and structure.

·         The output per panel, efficiency of the panel, and solar radiation are also some important factors. Using these aspects capacity utility factor or CUF is determined. CUF of around 19% is considered in our country. The number of units that are generated annually is calculated using the formula Units Generated Annually (in Kwh) = System Size in Kw * CUF * 365 * 24

·         The size of the solar set-up and the cost of setting up are also taken into consideration. Along with installation cost, the Rooftop Solar System Maintenance cost also has to be considered.

Here is how to calculate the area required for a 1kW rooftop solar PV system:

·         The rooftop space is crucial for setting up a solar PV system. For calculating the area needed for a 1kW rooftop solar system take into account the area of each panel. Now divide the available area of the roof with the area of each panel. This you have to multiply by the panels' rated output.

·         Generally, you can consider 70% of the roof area for estimation purposes. But in the case of a large set up 90% area of the roof has to be considered.

·         Since 1kW energy is absorbed by a 1sq m area of the earth. But the efficiency of the solar panels used in the Solar Rooftop Installation has to be taken into account. This efficiency is around 15 to 18 %. This means for a 1sq m area the power that is generated is around 150W to 180 W. And that for 1kW power, a 10 sq m area of the rooftop is needed.

Keep in mind that this is just an approximate value. It is better to hire experts who have the technical expertise to determine the exact value. These experts take into consideration the size of the panel, available roof area, and other factors. Based on these factors they make the exact calculations.

3 Ways to Use Excess Solar Power

Highly efficient solar panels can produce more energy than your residential or commercial power requirements. Having surplus energy can result in more efficient energy grids, increased cost savings, and reduced fossil fuel emissions. It is a far better option than dealing with the problem of inadequate power supply. If you have too much solar power than your requirements, you can store surplus power. Opting for storage solutions will benefit your business or home and your pocketbook. Firstly, energy storage allows having enough reliable energy when production is less, and demand is high. Secondly, it fills in the gaps by ensuring constant power flow during disruptions in generators, repairing and replacement of solar system , and power outages. Better control over solar power consumption helps reduce the carbon footprint in your area.  Additionally, you can enjoy cost savings from your electric bills by reducing dependence on the grid. Furthermore, adopting a solar net metering polic

10 Potential Benefits of Rooftop Solar Systems

Solar rooftop panels set up on the roofs of commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial buildings harness the light emitted by the sun and convert it into cost-effective and clean energy. The adoption of this eco-friendly form of energy makes mother earth a safe and healthy place to live. Let’s jump ahead over some of the major benefits of the rapid spread of rooftop solar panels. 1.        Environmental impacts Solar rooftop systems are a cleaner source of energy because they only need sunlight to generate electricity. No pollutants and harmful gases are emitted during energy production. Hence, there is no risk of any health hazards. With widespread usage, such systems can reduce carbon footprint and global warming. 2.        Multiple applications The leading rooftop solar system providers in Delhi NCR are providing a wide variety of systems that can be used for numerous applications. For example, run household appliances like TV, refrigerators, dryer, etc.; daily u

Is India on Right Track to Become a Leader in Clean Energy Transformation?

India is an abode to one of the largest clean and green energy expansion programs. The nation has constantly proved its intention to clean energy transition through several goals it has set. Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, R K Singh stated that India is on the right track to become a world leader in the energy transition. The pledge of the government of India to meet the goal of net-zero emissions by 2070 at the COP26 in Glasgow has made a start. Solar Tele Communication Tower The Indian government has set a goal to meet 50% of India's power needs from renewable energy sources by 2030. India’s telecom sector that relies on diesel generators for power supply to the towers are nowadays going with solar Telecommunication tower installation that use environmental-friendly solar energy and reduce dependence on the utility grid. Solar Tele communication tower doesn’t pollute the environment and saves the operational cost of diesel generators. Just like the Tele
